100 Years Old & Still Cooking Beans

Writer's picture: susieclifftsmithsusieclifftsmith

I began writing poetry in the 3rd or 4th grade. My favorite children's stories were ones that were written in rhyme. I am not sure when I started writing poetry to my friends and family. But it was not until I wrote a poem for Lorene "Webb" Hamilton's 100th birthday that I ever considered publishing my poetry. My desire with each poem I write is to bring joy, console, to bring a smile, remembrance of a happy or perhaps a somber time. I write to honor my friends and loved ones. I write from the heart. This book features 13 friends/or family. Each poem is accompanied by a biography and photos. Center Below: Clifft Family reunion with me, my siblings, and parents. Left: My mother with my two sons when they were five and three in Wenatchee, WA. Right: my mother skiing at Steven's Pass, Washington State.
